2014년 9월6일부터 9월10일까지 스위스 제네바 국제컨벤션센타에서 제24차 World Congress of WSCTS 연례 학술대회가 진행되었다. 이 학술대회에서 주된 발표 강의, 토의연제는 심장혈관관련 주제가 많았다. 서울대학교병원 흉부외과에서도 3가지 연제를 발표하였으며 참석한 흉부외과 의료진은 김용진, 김기봉, 임홍국교수, 김용한, 김민석선생들이 연구결과를 발표하였다, 기초연구분야인 Calcification of decellularized and alpha-galactosidase treated bovine pericardial tissue in alpha-gal KO mouse implantation model; Comparison with primate pericardial tissue를 발표하였고, 임상연구분야에서는 Mid-term results after surgical treatment of Ebstein anomaly와 Heart transplantation in Korea라는 제목으로 발표하였으며 그외 국내 다른 대학에서도 몇편의 연구결과를 발표하였다. 세계 각국에서 많은 흉부외과 및 관련 의료진들이 참가하여 다양한 특강과 연제들로 토의가 진지하게 이루어진 보람된 학회를 참가하였다,
